Strathroy Secondary School

Designed in association with Dickson Partnership Architects, the new Strathroy District Collegiate Institute and Holy Cross Secondary School provides accommodation for 1500 students, in a unique partnership between the Thames Valley District School Board and the London and District Catholic School Board. Although the facility functions as two autonomous schools, each with its own entrance, administration areas, and core classrooms, the specialized areas of the building are all shared. 

These include the gymnasia, cafeteria, science, technology, and theatre arts programs; all of which are used jointly by both schools on a scheduled basis. This collaboration, facilitated through our interactive design process, has enabled each School Board to provide a higher quality and wider range of accommodation for its students than would have been possible in two separate school buildings.
