Blenheim District Public School
Located in Drumbo Ontario, Blenheim District Public School is designed to accommodate approximately 300 students ranging from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The two storey design provides for classroom space, a gymnasium with activity room, a state-of-the-art Library Resource Centre and a General Arts Room.
The building is set back from the street to create a celebrated entrance sequence centred on an existing cenotaph which welcomes students, staff and visitors from the street through to the main building entrance. Upon entering the school, one is welcomed by a bright and spacious atrium, around which the Office, Library, Gymnasium and Activity Room are organized. The classrooms are located behind the Gymnasium volume along the east end of the site which provides views over an existing row of mature birch trees and into the rural landscape beyond.
